Graphic image: Create a Custom Website for Your Farm, Ranch or Rural Small Town Business

Every kind of small business needs a website. No matter what industry you’re in. No matter what product or service you provide. If you’re in business, you need to have a digital home for potential customers to visit. You can learn to create a custom website for your ranch or farm.

As a professional website designer and Showit expert, I’ve been designing websites for years! But it took me a long time to realize I could marry my love of agriculture and country living with my knowledge of web design and marketing.

Cowgirls need to create good websites too!

For lots of small business entrepreneurs, the idea of website design and maintenance is overwhelming. So they hand over the keys to their website kingdom to a designer. Or they buy a template, change out the images and the text and call it “good.” But having no idea how to update or maintain your website is a recipe for disaster. And using a template website that looks like everyone else’s isn’t a great way to differentiate you from your competitors.

That’s why I believe you should learn to create and maintain your own website for your ranch or farm. Don’t be dependent on a website designer (especially one that doesn’t understand your small business). Now, I’m not suggesting you learn code. Not at all. I highly recommend that you check out Showit’s easy-to-use website builder. It’s a drag-and-drop platform that allows you to create a truly customized website (starting with a template as a jumping off point). Showit also allows you to drag-and-drop a WordPress blog – which is truly magical. And friend, blogging is one of the best things you can do for your ranch or farm if you’re looking to increase your reach and brand awareness.

You might be thinking there’s no way you could ever learn to create your own website for your ranch or farm… but I believe you can. In fact, I know you can!! It’s no more complicated than all the other complicated things you do in your ag business every day. Sure, there’s a learning curve. But there’s a learning curve to riding a horse too. And you don’t ride a race horse your first time out. You learn in stages. And I can help you learn in stages how to build an awesome and fresh website.
